Children's Antique & Collectable Items Including Pottery & Glass
Child's Victorian Red Transfer Tea Set
ITEM - Child's Tea Set - consisting of :-
Teapot, Creamer, Covered Sugar, Waste Bowl
2 Tab Handle Cake Plates, 4 Cups and Saucers
MAKER - Unknown - Probably a Staffordshire Potter
PATTERN - Dog Rose / Blossom - Pattern name is unknown
DATE -c1860
SIZES -:- All Approximate
Teapot 4 ¼ inches high to finial on the cover by 6 ½ inches from spout to handle inclusive
Creamer 3 inches high by 3 ¼ inches from lip to handle inclusive
Covered Sugar 3 3/4 inches high to finial on the cover by 4 ½ inches handle to handle
Waste Bowl 2 ½ inches high by 3 ¼ inches across
Cakes Plates 6 ¼ inches across Tab Handle to Tab Handle
Cups 2 inches high by 3 inches across including the handle
Saucers 4 ½ inches across
The little set is made from bone china the pattern is transfer printed with gold lining around the rims and on the handles, there are some very similar shaped sets to be found in Lorraine Punchard's Books but there is no documentation as to a maker for these
The little set will display well
Remember that little hands have played with these over the years so some minor imperfections must be expected
On the teapot there is a chip on the inner rim where the lid sits (not seen )
On the spout you can feel more than see a tiny pin head glaze flake
There is what I can only describe as a scratch from the rim
On the cover there is a small nick when magnified there is gold over this
Not sure if this has been done when made or touched in, when the lid is on the teapot it cannot be noticed
On the Covered Sugar one handle has a hairline across both parts I can see no trace of glue
One Cup has a line to the bottom which again when the item is displayed does not immediately show
Apart from the minor items I have mentioned there is no other damage or restoration
I have pictures of all the areas mentioned so please email me and I will forward them on to you
