Victorian Toast Rack Blue Polychrome Ironstone

  • ITEM - Victorian Toast Rack
  • DATE - c19th century
  • PATTERN - Floral with Blue Ground - name unknown
  • MAKER / ORIGIN - English - probably Staffordshire Pottery - there is an impressed cross on the underside which I presume is a makers mark
  • SIZES - About 8 ¼ inches in length,3 ¾ inches across and about 3 inches on the highest divide
  • Very eye catching colours and a nice early piece to add to a collection - not many of these early pieces now come onto the market
    Condition of Item
  • There are a couple of glaze chips on the underside of the handles
  • A very fine hairline again can be seen on the underside but does not show on the top mainly due to the patterning and another line which looks as if it maybe a firing crease
  • I have photographed all the flaws
  • There is crazing that you would expect with age
  • I can find no major damage or restoration
