Blue Transfer Ware Washbowl - Children Fishing

  • ITEM - Washbowl
  • DATE - c1850
  • PATTERN - Name unknown - centre pattern is of children sitting on a bank fishing with a Water Mill in the background – geometric pattern around the rim with reserves showing the Water Mill
  • MAKER / ORIGIN - Maker unknown - but would expect it to be from a good Staffordshire factory
  • SIZES - 4 ½ inches deep and 13 inches across the top - 5 ½ inches across the foot rim
  • Good object for use or display in any Blue and White transferware collection
    Condition of Item
  • Minor scratches from use
  • Stilt marks can be seen on the inside of the bowl
  • Chip on the footrim that occurred during the making - this has been glazed over - so would have left the pottery as is
  • Minor crazing from age and a light star in the glaze to the underside base - this does not go through
  • No damage and no restoration
