Early 19th Century Silver Plated Desk Set /Stand

  • ITEM - Desk Stand consisting of Tray, 2 Ink Bottles with Star Cut Bases,
    Pen Wipe concealed under the Candle Holder
  • MAKER / ORIGIN - English - On the underside of the stand it has the initials SH & Co which could be for S & T Howard who were Sheffield Plate Makers in around 1the early 1800’s - there is also a retailers name and address although the name cannot be made out the address is 142 - 144 Oxford St. W

  • DATE - Early 19th century
  • SIZES - The tray is 8 ¾ inches in length and 5 ¼ inches across
  • The ink bottles are 2 ¼ inches high
  • The piece has been replated but all the pieces are original
  • Very nice piece especially as it still retains the candle holder which would have been
    used to melt the wax for the seals and although a little over used it still has the pen wipe brush
  • Would grace any antique desk beautifully
    Condition of Item
  • No damage to any of the pieces - but as already stated it has been replated
