Flow Blue Polychrome Panelled Tea Jar & Cover

  • ITEM - Tea Jar & Cover
  • DATE - mid 1800’s
  • PATTERN - Name Unknown - Oriental theme - 6 Panels each with a different pattern or colouring
  • MAKER / ORIGIN - Thought to be made by Pratt
  • SIZES - About 6 inches to the rim and around 4 inches across
  • The piece is very dark flow blue and therefore it has been hard to get a clearer picture without distorting the colour - these jars with there covers ( even damaged) are very hard to find and always make a great addition to any collection
    Condition of Item
  • The cover has damage - the finial has been lost, and there is a glaze chip and a piece out of the side - I have the broken piece
    and for photographing I have taped the piece into place so that you can see the size of the glaze chip - I did
    not want to glue this into place as I felt a restorer would prefer to do that along with the main repair
  • The main body has no damage and no restoration
  • The covers are often missing on these jars and that is why even with the damage it was important to keep the 2 pieces together - the cover can be restored
